How Do I
create a Costing for a Client?
Overview :
Very often
a client will require a costing to show him/her exactly how much the landed
cost was per line on the imports bill of entry. Shipshape has a very useful
tool to produce costings which will give your client a comprehensive break
down.
Step-by-Step :
- Make sure that your client is
set up as a costing client. Please refer to the ‘How do I create a
Client?’ question for instructions on how to do this.
- Frame an entry. Please refer to
the ‘How do I frame a Bill of Entry’ question for instructions on how to
do this. Please note that when you are framing the bill of entry lines,
you will be required to fill in costing quantities and costing statistical
codes. This is to tell the system how to apportion your costing.
- Once you are done with your
entry, click on the Costing button
under the General menu.
- You will be given the costing
screen, which shows a list of all the costings you have done on the system
so far.

The Costing Sceen
- To create a new costing click
on the New
button. The program will then ask you for the computer reference. Once you
have selected it, you will be prompted for extra information with regards
to mark ups etc
- The bottom half of your screen
has fields for you to add extra charges. The default charges can be
over-written with any description. Once you have completed all the fields,
click on Ok.

Costing Screen, click on Print to
print your costing out.
